Jobsets Last Updated 8/12/2008 2:05 PM
A jobset allows multiple steps to be incorporated into a single job that can either be run manually or automated. For example each month, we may wish to load actual data from our ERP system, and then perform a complex allocation, before updating our monthly reports. The various task necessary to carry this out can of course be executed manually by the project owner one after the other. However this approach could be time-consuming and necessitates the project owner remembereing the correct sequence of steps. However using a jobset we can specify the tasks that need to be run and the sequence in which they will be run, and then we can either execute the jobset through the MaxiPlan interface, or schedule the job to be run as a batch process.
